Oman Agriculture Minister and KSA explore areas of food cooperation

Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Oman Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources held a meeting via video-conferencing with Dr. Hisham Saad Al Jadhey, CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA). The two sides discussed a spectrum of topics, particularly in the field of exporting agricultural and animal products from Oman to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Present at the meeting were representatives from the public and private sectors of the two countries.

Oman Agriculture Minister and KSA explore areas of food cooperationSFDA was established under a Council of Ministers resolution as an independent body reporting directly to the President of the Council of Ministers. SFDA assumes the procedural, executive, and supervisory responsibilities currently carried out by existing agencies. SFDA’s main objectives are to ensure the safety of food, drugs for humans and animals, and biological and chemical substances as well as electronic devices that are related to human health.
